About The Faculty
The Faculty of Optometry is dedicated to training future eye care professionals, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of optometry. The program typically spans six years, incorporating a one-year foundation year followed by five years of specialized study. This comprehensive curriculum ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the diverse needs of patients and the evolving landscape of eye care


The foundation year serves as an essential introduction to the core concepts of optometry and related sciences. During this year, students study fundamental topics such as basic anatomy, physiology, biology, and introductory optics. This foundational knowledge is crucial for understanding the intricacies of the human visual system and preparing students for the more advanced coursework that follows.
